Register for Courses

This is the time to make plans for the 2026-2027 school year!

During middle school, students begin to have choices in the courses they take. As they explore and make selections for next year, we want students – and our middle school families – to be well informed.

Middle school course selection is a good time to begin thinking about future plans for high school and beyond. Selecting classes with each student’s educational goals in mind is very important to us, and our team is ready to support students in the process. Browse the registration guide and worksheets to begin making selections for the upcoming school year.

There are also materials available for students entering grades 5-6. There is a music worksheet for students entering grade 6 and a parent input form for students entering grade 5.

Students entering grades 5 and 6 are placed on teams consisting of four to five teachers, whom they stay with throughout the day.

Students entering grade 6 will have the option to register for choir, band or both. If students want to register for both, they sign up for band and zero hour choir. Zero hour choir will take place before school.

Student Placement Input Form: 2026-2027 (for incoming 5th grade students)

The Westwood team uses a combination of parent input, teacher insights and professional judgment to determine the team and setting where each student is placed for the school year. The final decision for classroom placements rests with the principal. When making class list decisions, many factors are considered for developing balanced classrooms. These factors include but are not limited to: Leadership, Gender, Academic Skill Level, Special Needs, Learning Styles, Parental Input, Specific Student Combinations, Behavior. The information you provide will be one input we use to make classroom placements. Please do not list specific teacher names on the input form. This online form must be completed no later than Friday, May 1, 2026.
